Cape Cod

After peeling away from the influx of traffic, this week's Cape's arrivals, I unload my clothes, food, and supplies for the weeks ahead. Then I walk the dogs along the shore, the beach grass tall and swaying. The volume of the world quiets as I watch a single boat sailing silently on the bay's blue rim, a dark craft navigating the edge.
